Why it matters
Capable businesses lose work they should win — not because they can't do the job, but because they can't get positioned in front of the people awarding it. And when they do get the introduction, the deal often dies in the details: the agreement that never gets finalized, the registration nobody completes, the follow-up nobody makes.
Most business development stops at the handshake. Willoby Consulting was built for everything after it.
And it starts with an honest look at where you stand — because you can't fix what you haven't named.
Services
Four ways in, depending on where your business stands and where you're trying to go.
Current-state analysis
Before you chase new markets, you need a clear picture of where your business stands today. We dig into your operations, your online presence, your materials, your processes — how work actually gets done and how you show up to the people who buy it — and give you a straight assessment: what's working, what's costing you opportunities, and what to fix first.
Business development
We open doors and build the relationships that turn into contract opportunities — sourcing introductions, tracking active projects, and keeping you positioned ahead of the competition. And we stay in the room after the introduction is made.
Market entry and positioning
Breaking into a new market or scaling into bigger work takes more than capability — it takes being known by the right people before the opportunity goes public. We help you understand where you fit, and make sure buyers, partners, and decision-makers know to call you first.
Contracts and follow-through
We structure and negotiate the agreements that follow — scope, compensation, and the terms that protect both sides. Then we handle the details that actually get you to work: service agreements, invoicing, registrations, logistics. The deal isn't done at the signature; it's done when you're mobilized.
How we work
One engagement, four moves — from first look to signed work.
Understand
We learn your capabilities, your targets, and where you're trying to break in.
Position
We put you in front of the right buyers, partners, and decision-makers, with your strengths framed the way they buy.
Negotiate
We structure the agreement: scope, compensation, terms that protect both sides.
Follow through
We handle the paperwork, registrations, and logistics until the deal is real and you're working.
Most engagements start with the current-state analysis: a fixed-scope first step, priced up front, so you know exactly what it costs before anything bigger. It also works as a standalone engagement — a straight assessment you can act on with or without us.
Results
A look at how the work plays out with real clients. Details are generalized to protect confidentiality.
Materials supplier
Found the one gate standing between a materials supplier and most of its addressable volume on a major project — and got it moving before delays could stall it. Then positioned the supplier's track record for new-business outreach.
Equipment supplier
Spotted a product niche the national competitors don't serve on large-scale sites — and sized the immediate opportunity so the revenue case was clear.
Multi-entity portfolio
Structured consulting agreements across a multi-company portfolio — with protections so the firm's position survives renewals, extensions, and in-house transitins.
Land development track
Opened direct relationships with a developer's team, delivered the site data they needed, and mapped the approval path that determines how fast the deal can move.
Willoby Consulting brought clarity and momentum to opportunities that had been stalled for months. Kierston and the network she brings to the table helped identify new opportunities, connect the right people, and structure agreements that allowed us to move forward without the unnecessary back-and-forth we had experienced before.
What has stood out most is the directness and follow-through. Communication is straightforward, expectations and timelines are realistic, and when circumstances change, we know about it early and can adjust accordingly.
We highly recommend Kierston and Willoby Consulting.

Start the conversationAbout
Kierston Willoby founded Willoby Consulting to do the unglamorous work that gets deals done: direct conversations, plain language, and follow-through from the first introduction to the signed agreement.
That comes from more than ten years managing complex programs and vendor relationships across government, fintech, banking, insurance, healthcare, and transportation. Four of those years were in fintech and payments through a private-equity-backed exit. The rest includes leading governance and delivery on a large, multi-vendor enterprise technology program — building the charters and approval processes that hold vendors to written sign-off before invoices get paid, hiring and coaching program staff, and running the stakeholder communication that keeps dozens of people moving in the same direction.
It shows up in how the work gets handled here: written accountability, documented approvals, and follow-through on the details — service agreements, invoicing, vendor registrations, lease agreements, logistics — long after the introduction is made.
No jargon, no overselling — steady work on your behalf, and a straight answer when you ask for one. Strategic enough to set the direction. Hands-on enough to see it through.
The firm stays small on purpose — Kierston plus a couple of trusted collaborators who step in when an engagement calls for it. No junior handoffs, no layers between you and the people doing the work.
